Why You Should Use Real Estate Signs

By Kevin Ierardi

If it's time to sell a house or a location you represent you must use real estate signs. There are many varieties to choose from. Because there are so many when it comes time to use them you may have some questions. How much should I pay? Where do I put these signs? How big should they be and how many of them do I need?

So maybe your not that frantic about your new signs but be sure to remember that during the for sale period these signs can have a real impact. Just think, if you have a small little sign that is hard to read are you really going to get a lot of attention? What if you had a nice big, bold and easy to see sign with colors? That would probably be much better right?

The first thing you want to keep in mind is what kind of real estate signs will work best for what you're doing. As a note, if you're a homeowner and you have a Realtor then they will place a large sign on your property and that may be all they need considering they list it on the MLS as well.

If you think you may try to sell your home without an agent then you want a "for sale by owner sign." This sign is usually red and white in color and sort of a trademark if you will.

It's very important that the information you write on your sign be legible and easy to read even at a glance. The contact phone number should be big and clear on this sign as well.

In addition to this sign you may want to add a box that contains flyers in it which spells out all of the details of the property for the prospective buyer. Make sure to have all the information they need to contact you on this flyer.

One aspect people tend to overlook with real estate signs is the size of them. Remember, these signs will be by the road where pole will be driving by. This means you don't want them to struggle reading it as they drive by. The starting proper sign size for a lawn is about 18x24 inches and not really any smaller.

So now that you have these signs, where should they be placed? Well on the front lawn of the property for sale is the first place. From there your next sign should be placed next to the road of the nearest main street. After that the next place would be the nearest main street intersection that is near your house.

Now that we have covered the size, location and the specifics of the signs, let us talk about the price. These signs are available at your local retailer but they will be top dollar there. The best place to get these signs is right here online. Check out the link below for a great place to start looking for these signs.

The final piece of information I would like to share here is get even more attention with your signs by using balloons to catch peoples eye. Balloons are a very inexpensive way to grab the attention of the passerby.

So with that final note I would like to say good luck with your new real estate signs!
