It's hard to imagine that I am not as big of a fan of the people of Asgard from "Thor" as I am of those from Earth. In particular, Jane Foster has shown that females in superhero movies can be very strong as well as heroes in their own right. To say the least, I was surprised with the film and I thought that the characters had kept me glued to the screen throughout each of the events. Is it possible, though, that Foster can find collection services coming into her possession?
Jane Foster's character is well-written but it'd be wrong to leave out how well-acted she is as well. Natalie Portman has taken on the role as Foster and I am glad to say that she does the role a great amount of justice. She seems to be invested in the character, being able to possess the level of caring as well as daring to go about anything that she would set her mind to. It's easy to get behind the character, which I believe is a testament to an actress I haven't though much of beforehand.
In any movie of this nature, though, you have to believe Foster had to approach one obstacle after another. S.H.I.E.L.D., for instance, is the group that she found herself running into a couple of times. However, I think that the fact that the group confiscated her belongings made her all the more driven to go about her goals. She didn't want to simply let this level of power to render her unsuccessful in her efforts and I think that this kind of mindset should be seen in more "damsels" in superhero films.
While I didn't initially link collection services to Foster's character, I think that it'd be easy enough to draw a connection between the two. I'm sure that she could have put an agency such as Rapid Recovery to use while she had her problems with S.H.I.E.L.D. This would be especially true after Thor was proven to be the crown prince of Asgard and not just someone without a clear identity to speak of. Considering the world that this universe is etched in, however, it seems like some matters can be swept under the rug.
I cannot argue with the fact that "Thor" is an excellent film and I would like to imagine that it was partially due to the cast of characters. It was easy to like just about everyone in the movie, even if some were more prominent than others. There were roles that left me pleasantly surprised, though, with Jane Foster being perhaps the biggest one. It's good to know that I was able to attain something from the movie that I didn't go into expecting much of anything.
