This is because such activity is similar to the aforementioned alcohol or drug use, which most employees are fully aware is prohibited at work. In other words, the person knows that he or she should not engage in dangerous activity, and therefore if the injury was sustained due to such action, the person will likely be responsible for his or her own expenses.

After the necessary paperwork is completed, a seven-day waiting period to goes into effect. However, there are some factors that may delay these documents from being forwarded to the insurance company, which may extend the waiting period. If the injured person does not receive anything in writing within 10 days of submitting the paperwork, the human resources officer at his or her company should be contacted.

Anyone who is injured while at work due to no fault of their own should immediately fill out an accident report. Employers cannot refuse to allow a hurt worker to complete such paper work. If an officer of any company tries to intimidate an employee or talk him or her out of completing an accident report, that individual should contact a lawyer.
