Are Forex Trading Courses Really Worth Paying For?

By James Kupe

If you want to become a profitable forex trader then you are going to have to pay for your education in one of two ways. There simply isn't an 'easy' way to get started, although there's plenty of people who are willing to sell you a 'Forex Trading Robot' with the promise that you'll make a bunch of money without having to know anything about trading. I don't think so.

The first way is to try and work out this business by yourself. The cost of this method is the time you spend figuring it all out, and the inevitable losses you are going to suffer while you are learning. You might have great success doing it this way, but the odds are, you're in for your fair share of disappointment.

If you can keep the losses during this learning phase small, you can probably spend the time needed to teach yourself how to trade. Or you might just blow up one, two or even more trading accounts, and give the whole thing away. But the biggest problem with this do-it-yourself method is you're burning through a lot of TIME. And time is something most of us are never going to have enough of. You can easily make more money, especially trading the forex market, but you are never going to be able to make more time.

The second way is to find somebody who has done all of that legwork for you, and buy, borrow or license their system from them. If you've ever spent a bunch of time and money trying to perfect something, you'll know which option is preferable. So what can you learn from a forex trading course that you can't learn online for free?

Well first of all, the forex market is a highly evolved and complex beast. There are many different factors that affect the way the market behaves, so there are lots of things to be analyzed and understood before you dip your toe into the market. That means that anyone who tries to trade based on some free training they found on Youtube or in some 'Guru's' email messages is entering into uncharted territory, completely unprepared for what is about to happen to them.

A quality forex course created by somebody who trades for a living can teach you about all of the different forces and nuances you need to consider before you trade. It will explain the different tools and indicators and how to use them in your analysis in a way that gives you an EDGE. And as you may already know, having an edge is the single most important factor in becoming a profitable trader, no matter what market you are in.

You can learn a lot about stop loss orders, leverage, slippage, and the other stuff associated with forex trading for free - this is all very general in nature. But a good forex course will teach you how to understand where all of the pieces fit together and show you exactly how to profit from whatever the market throws at you.

Now obviously the success or failure of your trading career will depend on how you use the information and training you receive. But if you get that knowledge from someone who has a good track record, you will have a much higher chance of becoming a successful trader. The kind of knowledge you need to succeed is never free for the taking - you have to invest in yourself to get the real secrets. So don't be scared of paying for a good forex trading course. If you use what you learn, it will more than repay you in increased profits, less stress and a higher standard of living for you and your family.
